Flowerfish are just as susceptible to many of the same diseases as other fish. Flowerfish are however pretty tough cookies and are less vulnerable, so they generally shouldnt pick up much. The most important factor to helping your flowerfish stay disease free is to ensure you maintain goof water quality, this is a often a major factor in causing your fish to become sick. Other contriuting factors to flowerfish disease are tanks that are too small, or tanks that do not have good enough filtration, and or just are not changed regularly (See how to keep flower horns!).

If a Flowerhorn does appear sick, you should quickely check the PH of the water. The pH should be above 7.0 for best results. If the PH is lower than this, the fish won't mind much, but the bacteria in the filter will not work up to par, and nitrogen can accumulate. to keep the PH level up you can use Baking Soda in small quantities. If the PH is wrong, you should check the Ammonia and Nitrate of the system, high nitrates is a common factor for disease.
